“Humans will pass, but the earth will remain.”

Tataraimaka Moana (Beautiful Place by the Sea) is a bold and refreshing new work by Māori playwright Daley Rangi, examining transgenerational trauma and ecological sovereignty.

An intimate lyrical exploration of cultural and climate apocalypse from the perspective of tangata whenua, three stories of lost souls intertwine over the ebb and flow of a polluted ocean under a sky on fire. Inspired by ancestry, and fuelled by injustice, Tataraimaka Moana is an evocative voyage of unearthing hope within the hopeless and finding your way back home.
